Educational Qualifications required for TNPSC Exam Post :

• Bachelor's Degree in any subject
• AND
• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Library and Information Science

Experience required :

• 2 years experience for Industries Dept Librarian
• NIL - for all other department librarians.

Age limit details :

• Minimum age limit is 18 years should have completed.
• UR candidates : 35 years age limit for Librarian Grade I Post. 30 years age limit for all other posts.
• There is no age limit for  SC / SCA / ST / BC / MBC / DNC candidates and Destitute Widow of all communities.
• Additional 10 years age relaxations are applicable for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) as per Government of India rules, in addition to the above communal roster systems.
• UR candidates, who have put in 5 years and more of service in the State / Central Government are not eligible to apply even if they are within the age limit
• 48 years for Ex-Service-man candidates.

Examination Details :

Method of selection via, Written Exam (single paper) and Viva-Voce Test.

I Paper : Library Science (Degree Standard)
Total Time 3 hours
Total 200 MCQs - each questions will carry 1.5 marks
Total 300 marks.

II Paper : General Studies

Total Time 2 hours
Total 100 MCQs - each questions will carry 2 marks
Total 200 marks.
General Studies 75 MCQs (Degree Level)
Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (10th Std Level) 25 MCQs

23.12.2018 : Exam date re-scheduled
Originally exam dated scheduled in 23rd February 2018, in the view of TNPSC Group-II main examination, this date has been rescheduled to 30th March 2019.
